C.S. God's Administrators' are fragile Earthen Vessels

I. The day in the life of an Administrator
• Many, if not all of us in this chapel have been administrators
• We all know that some days we wish we had not gotten out of bed
• The Gospel describes one of those days for Jesus
• He is facing a persistent mother who wants her two sons to move to the front of the line
• After all, Jesus took them from their parents, they abandoned their
father and his fishing nets to follow him
• Now, she wants a reward
• In the meantime the other disciples see this and are angry
• Better to have stayed in bed!
• We are reminded today that God's Administrators' are fragile Earthen Vessels

II. Leadership is difficult yet we are never alone
• Saint Paul and the Lord show us that being a leader, being an administrator means accepting fragility, pain, suffering, misunderstanding and even death in order for the life of God to shine through
• God's administrators' are quite fragile, like a clay pot, yet carry the message of God's love, friendship and support with them
• As Paul says: we do this so that the life of Jesus may be manifested in our mortal flesh
• We are weak like all members of our communities
• We make mistakes and sometimes very big ones!
• Yet we carry the promise, the hope, the blessed assurance that Jesus will never abandon us
• We act in His Name, through the intercession of Our Lady
• So yes we are fragile, we can break)but in the midst of it all our God walks with us
